Small Planet Airlines drew a giant 100 over the territory of Lithuania
Leisure carrier Small Planet Airlines marked the 100th birthday of Lithuania with an exclusive flight: late at night on February 15 the company invited its employees, partners and friends for a flight from Palanga to Vilnius, drawing a huge symbolic figure – 100 – in the sky over Lithuania.

“Flight signifies freedom: an opportunity to travel the world and cross boundaries. That is why we decided to mark the centenary of Lithuania’s statehood restoration with a historic flight. Drawing the figure took 1 hour 50 minutes and the total length of it was around 1,130 km. The motto of our company is ‘Why Not?’ and celebrating Lithuania’s birthday this was one of the greatest ‘Why Nots’ we had ever done” Simonas Bartkus, Head of Marketing at Small Planet Airlines shared his impressions after the flight.
Small Planet Airlines flew the centennial flight S5100 with Airbus A320, registration number LY-SPD. The aircraft left Palanga Airport at nearly 11 p.m. local time and landed in Vilnius well after the midnight hour.
Small Planet Airlines is Lithuanian leisure carrier established in 2009 and currently operating a fleet of 22 aircraft, including eighteen Airbus A320 aircraft and four A321 aircraft. Together with large tour operators, Small Planet Airlines flies tourists to popular holiday destinations in Egypt, the Mediterranean region and the Canary Islands.
